Nice analysis. I’m one of those closed beta podcasters on the ClickCaster Service. I’ve played with ODEO, and it’s pretty impressive. But I’m finding I like ClickCaster better for the same reasons I like Google better than Yahoo. Simple, powerful and in it’s own way more elegant (some of the come from Apple I hear, and it shows). I’m still waiting for ODEO’s recorder to work right (and I have some issues with Flash as a recorder… not so good quality vs. the ClickCaster Java based recorder doing 128kps… great for music shows like mine).
Bottom line- it’s getting easier, and it’s getting fun and you’re right. Once the tools are working right, you’ll see an explosion of new content creation out there. It’s a media landscape seismic shift in the making.
